Want to know more or volunteer?

I am looking for volunteers to help with the Hilmarton Neighbourhood First Responder Scheme.

*** Due to the success of the Hilmarton Scheme, we are looking for volunteers to help set-up a Lyneham Sector of the Scheme ***

First Responders

First Responder Volunteers should:

• Be aged between 18 and 70 (Volunteers over 65 years of age will be required to undergo an annual health check)

• Have a current clean* driving licence

• Be physically fit with a mature outlook on life and have a sympathetic and caring approach to people

Volunteers may already have some basic understanding of first aid, however due to the nature of the Scheme and the extensive training that is provided, volunteers with absolutely no previous first aid or medical knowledge are also equally welcome.

Comprehensive training is provided free of charge from Wiltshire St. John Ambulance Trainers and the Great Western Ambulance Service NHS Trust..

Volunteers will need to be flexible and are organised on a call-out basis to meet the needs of the Neighbourhood First Responder Scheme and local community.

Due to the nature of the role, it is important to note that volunteers need to agree for a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check at Enhanced level to be carried out prior to being on-call.

This check will be made at no cost to the volunteer.

* points for minor traffic offences may be considered depending upon the circumstances
