Geographic area of the Scheme

The geographic area of Schemes largely depends on where the Neighbourhood First Responder volunteers live - it is the aim that we arrive at the casualty within six minutes of being called out as ordinarily the NHS emergency ambulance will arrive within six minutes.

Ambulance Control monitor and track available resources and in addition to sending an emergency ambulance, should the call type dictate, will also dispatch the nearest relevant Neighbourhood Responder Scheme.

The Hilmarton Scheme has been called out to Quemerford, Calne, Goatacre, Lyneham, Bradenstoke, Broad Hinton and Chippenham in addition to Hilmarton.

Closer to home, we cover:

Beversbrook

Catcombe

Clevancy

Corton

Goatacre

Hilmarton

Highway

Littlecote

New Zealand

We are particularly interested in recruiting suitable volunteers in the Lyneham area who would be willing to provide on-call support during the working day and at weekends.  No previous first aid experience is required as full training is provided free of charge by Wiltshire St. John Ambulance and the Great Western Ambulance Service NHS Trust.
